I welcome you, on behalf of the organizing committee, to the 3rd International Engineering Conference (IEC) on "The Role of Engineering and Technology in Sustainable Development" to hold from 24th - 26th September 2019 at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria.

The lack of sustainable solutions to a number of socio-economic challenges is a major concern for most developing countries. Consequently, we consider it timely to provide researchers, engineers, captains of industries, scientists, academics and others with the right forum at the 3rd IEC to find, share and network solutions to problems that hamper sustainable development.

The 1st and 2nd IEC attracted a great number of participants and the 3rd IEC promises to be another exciting and memorable experience. The conference will cover a broad range of sub-themes that will integrate diverse solutions. Several completed and ongoing researches will be exhibited during the conference and participants will be treated to a number of exciting events.

Minna is the capital of Niger State situated in the North Central part of Nigeria. It is about 2 hours drive from Abuja, the nation’s capital city. The weather lies within the general comfort zone and the state is peaceful.

We express our gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Minna, the Deans of SIPET and SEET and to all who are working so hard to make the 3rd IEC a memorable experience. We sincerely believe that the 3rd IEC will provide, discuss and deliberate some of the best solutions and recommendations to a sustainable, healthier, and merrier world. We look forward to seeing you at the 3rd IEC!
